In travel content creation, Nadir Nibras is perhaps one of those revolutionaries who has completely changed the notions of a Bangladeshi traveling around the world. Alias Nadir On The Go, he is a multiple award winner travel filmmaker whose skills in storytelling and adventure made him gain millions of followers worldwide. As a pioneer travel blogger of Bangladesh, Nadir has indeed created a niche for himself in this segment, combining his engineering intellect with exploratory love to produce exciting and thought-provoking travel content.
Early Life and Academic Journey
Dinajpur gave birth to Nadir Nibras, a son of many houses in northern Bangladesh. His father Dr. AKM Fazlul Karim was a government dentist. The frequent painting of these moves threw Nadir open to various landscapes and societies early on, inducing him with that questing spirit. By 2000, they had settled in Dhaka, where he completed O and A levels at an English-medium school.
Nadir traveled from Bangladesh to the United States in 2010 to pursue his higher studies. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University before entering a Ph.D. program in biomedical engineering. At the same time as doing his Ph.D., he continued his master’s in data science and electrical engineering, exemplifying the spirit of learning across disciplines.
Nadir was an excellent student, but his heart wasn’t with any of that. His desire was to see the world and write stories about it, and so he took bold steps and quit the Ph.D. program to travel and create content exclusively.
The Birth of Nadir On The Go
Nadir created his YouTube channel, on December 17, 2016, Nadir On The Go, to bring forth his journey as a travel vlogger. The first few pieces of content were meant to be just a hobby, documenting travels intended for family and friends. The channel grew slowly for almost four years with just 200 subscribers by 2020.
Then there was the lockdown due to COVID-19 that changed the course of history. While confined to his home, Nadir learned the art of filmmaking and into trying out new formats. A Bengali blog that would later cause an uproar across millions of viewers both locally and outside was “Travel to 48 Visa-Free Countries with a Bangladeshi Passport”, which conquered his early audience of over 3.4 million views on YouTube alone.
This made Nadir finally a star, and his love for storytelling found a world audience at the same time. Today, he has almost 7 million followers on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
