Marques Keith Brownlee, better known around the world as MKBHD, is one of the most respected and recognizable names in technology media today. The teenage boy who filmed basic screen recordings from his bedroom has built a worldwide brand which now attracts millions of viewers and conducts important interviews and receives multiple awards while establishing real influence in the tech industry. Early Life and Education

Marques Brownlee was born on December 3, 1993 and he spent his childhood years in Maplewood New Jersey. His early childhood years served as the foundation for his lifelong passion toward technology which he pursued through exploration of mechanical systems. 
He completed his high school education at Columbia High School which he attended from 2007 until his graduation in 2011. He pursued higher education at Stevens Institute of Technology after completing his high school education and he studied at Howe School. The business and information technology education he received developed into crucial professional competencies which he used to succeed in his career. Marques graduated from college in May 2015 and he chose to become a full-time YouTuber instead of working at an office job. 
He established his video production operation from his home apartment. He took charge of all elements related to his project work. Marques has encountered public criticism just like other public figures do. The launch of his wallpaper application Panels occurred in September 2024. The application received severe negative feedback because of its expensive subscription costs and its advertisements for free users and its privacy issues and its ability to generate AI-based artistic content. The application shutdown announcement came from Marques after he reduced subscription costs and resolved existing problems. 

The major controversy from November 2024 occurred when a sponsored video displayed him driving at 96 mph through a 35 mph speed limit area. The clip generated strong negative feedback because viewers could not see the speedometer reading due to the blurred appearance. Marques removed the clip and publicly apologized, admitting his mistake. The subsequent release of older body-cam footage revealed previous traffic violations which intensified public outrage against him.
